The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation, and right-hander Noah Davis has been recalled. The team announced the moves ahead of Monday night’s home game against the Miami Marlins. Davis was just optioned in favor of Yoendrys Gómez, and can only be recalled due to a substantiated injury. Manager Dave Roberts said earlier that team doctors and medical staff were evaluating the right-hander for “overall body soreness.”

Dodgers Place Tyler Glasnow on IL with Shoulder Injury, Recall Noah Davis
Short-Timer
Glasnow exited the Dodgers’ game against the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday after just one inning with the injury. He looked uncomfortable on the mound during his warmup tosses between innings. This is the third out of five outings where Glasnow has had an early exit. The first appearance came against the Philadelphia Phillies where the right-hander gave up five earned runs and five walks in just two innings on a wet day at Citizens Bank Park. Glasnow struggled with the mound conditions. He was then pitching a gem in Arlington against the Texas Rangers but left the game after four innings due to cramping in his legs.
Shots in the Arm
However, there are some positive updates for the Dodgers, Left-hander Blake Snell, who is on the IL with shoulder inflammation, has no structural damage, and received a cortisone shot. There is no timetable for his return as of yet. However, right-hander Tony Gonsolin is scheduled to make his season debut on Wednesday against the Marlins at Dodger Stadium. The projected number-five starter has been sidelined with a back injury.
The Bullpen Dawgs
The Dodgers bullpen has picked up the slack thus far for the short starter outings. This includes yesterday, when they pitched eight scoreless innings in an 8-2 win over the Pirates. Los Angeles is 10-2 when the bullpen has thrown four or more innings in a game. Of particular note, reliever Ben Casparius has been excellent when pressed into duty. Aside from a rough outing against the Chicago Cubs, Casparius has given up just one earned run in 20 innings. Meanwhile, he has struck out 22. A solid option for a patchwork rotation? Maybe.
