Dodgers exercise options on Max Muncy and Alex Vesia

by Cary Osborne
The Dodgers have exercised 2026 club options of two of the longest-tenured Dodgers — third baseman Max Muncy and relief pitcher Alex Vesia.
Muncy, the Dodgers’ all-time postseason home run leader, has the longest continued service time with the Dodgers now that Clayton Kershaw is retired. Muncy, whose Dodger tenure began in 2018, ranks seventh in Dodger history with 209 regular-season home runs. His 16 postseason homers rank first all time.
His eighth-inning home run in Game 7 of the World Series was №16.
The 35-year-old appeared in 100 regular-season games in 2025 and hit .243/.376/.479/.846 with 19 home runs in 2025. His 136 OPS+ was his second-highest of his last seven seasons. He has eight seasons with the Dodgers.
Vesia, who has been with the Dodgers since 2021, trails Blake Treinen (2020) in consecutive years with the club.
Vesia had a 3.02 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 80 strikeouts in 59 2/3 innings in 2025. He has a 2.67 ERA in five seasons with the Dodgers.
The 29-year-old left-hander was unavailable for the 2025 World Series, due to a personal matter. He has a career 1.86 ERA in 26 career postseason games.
