Blake Snell makes his Dodgers debut in Tuesday afternoon’s Cactus League game against the Mariners at Camelback Ranch.
The right-hander signed a five-year, $182 million contract with the Dodgers in December, and slots in near the top of a deep starting rotation in Los Angeles.
“Being able to pitched in a packed stadium, to make moments for people, this is where you want to play,” Snell said of Dodger Stadium during his introductory press conference. “I don’t think there’s a situation that you could be in better than being right here.”
But first he’ll have to pitch at Camelback Ranch, which will also be packed but at roughly a quarter capacity of Dodger Stadium. Tuesday will mark the first game action for Snell wearing his Dodgers number-7 uniform.
Luis Castillo starts for the Mariners, making his first start of this Cactus League.
Tim Neverett and Rick Monday will call the game for SportsNet LA, with a simulcast on AM 570.
