Tony Gonsolin had a quality start in his return from the injured list last Wednesday in Los Angeles. The Dodgers right-hander will face the Marlins again on Tuesday night, this time in Miami in the middle game of a series at loanDepot Park in Miami.
Gonsolin struck out nine and walked none in his major league first start in 621 days. He allowed three runs in his six innings, two of them coming on a home run by Kyle Stowers. But that was par for the course, as the Marlins outfielder was named National League player of the week on Monday after hitting four home runs with 10 RBI and a 1.526 OPS.
Because Gonsolin missed all of the 2024 season after Tommy John surgery, Tuesday will mark his third consecutive start against the Marlins, dating all the way back to 2023.
Right-hander Cal Quantrill starts for the Marlins on Tuesday.
