The World Series rematch series comes to a close on Sunday night at Dodger Stadium, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto starting on the mound for the Dodgers.
Yamamoto faced the Yankees twice last season, throwing seven scoreless innings at Yankee Stadium in June and holding New York to one run on one hit in 6⅓ innings in Game 2 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium.
Left-hander Ryan Yarbrough will start Sunday for the Yankees. The old friend has a 3.06 ERA with 35 strikeouts and 11 walks in 35⅓ innings.
Sunday is the Dodgers’ fifth exclusive telecast on ESPN, with the ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ crew of Karl Ravech, David Cone, and Eduardo Pérez calling the game along with reporter Buster Olney on the broadcast. This is the second straight ESPN Sunday for the Dodgers, and it will be three in four weeks along with the June 15 game against the Giants as well.
