All four Dodgers affiliates except Double-A Tulsa lost all three games over the weekend. Bobby Miller had a nice start to his Sunday, then a rough fifth inning.
As the major league Dodgers have come off their seven-game losing streak with two wins this weekend, the minor league affiliates have been relatively quiet, with only the Tulsa Drillers winning any of their last three games.
Player of the day
Bobby Miller, if you include the five innings he’s pitched in the majors this season, has pitched to a 6.46 ERA in April, a 4.91 ERA in May, 8.78 in June, and 5.06 in July. The 26-year-old, six-foot-five-inch-tall righty has lost his effectiveness since putting up a very promising rookie season in 2023, when he was 11-4 in 22 starts with a 3.76 ERA. In 2024, Miller had a 6.00 ERA in 33 minor league innings and an 8.52 ERA in 56 major league innings.
In his latest start on Sunday, Miller got through four innings without giving up a run. But Bobby Miller’s history reveals a tendency for the wheels to come off quickly. He was removed from the game four batters into the fifth inning, after giving up a three-run homer. That turned out to be the game-winning hit in a 6-2 loss.
The day for Bobby Miller is done!
4.1IP 4H 3R 2K 2BBNot a bad outing at all, and, until the 5th, it was very good. Keep in mind, Miller is still ramping up his pitch count after coming off the IL, so he was reaching the end of his pitch count rope when the 5th inning began.

Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Comets could only muster two runs on five hits as they lost to the Sugar Land Space Cowboys (Astros) 6-2. Justin Dean had two hits for Oklahoma City. Ronan Kopp’s streak of 16 consecutive appearances without surrendering an earned run was broken when he gave up a single run in his second inning of work. Edgardo Henriquez got the last two outs for the Comets after giving up a two-run double to the first batter he faced. Henriquez has now accumulated 18 innings for the Comets, striking out 25, but giving up 20 hits, 10 walks, and carrying an ERA of 6.00.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers defeated the Arkansas Travelers (Mariners) 5-3 in ten innings. It was a bullpen game for the Drillers, and the last three pitchers closed out the game with five perfect innings. Kyle Nevin, the son of former Angels manager Phil Nevin, had two hits for the Drillers and is hitting .370 in nine games since being promoted to Double-A.
Chris Newell’s two-out, two-run single in the 10th inning was the game-winner.
High-A Great Lakes
The Loons, playing shorthanded with their starting outfield either off to the Futures Game (Josue De Paula and Zyhir Hope) or injured (Mike Sirota), could only score a single run in the ninth inning, losing to the Lansing Lugnuts (Athletics) 3-1. Cameron Decker hit a solo home run for the Loons’ only run. Elijah Hainline was two for three with a stolen base, and is four for seven in his start at High-A, with two extra-base hits, after hitting a tick under .300 in Low-A.
Low-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes fell a run short, losing their game to the Inland Empire 66ers (Angels) 8-7. A home run by Oswaldo Osorio in the bottom of the ninth inning pulled them within a run. Jose Meza had three hits and three RBIs for the Quakes.
