The current MLB lockout prohibits trades or free-agent signings involving any players on a team’s 40-man roster. It does not however stop coaches or managers from signing with new organizations. Former Dodgers minor league coach Danny-David Linahan announced his move to the Cleveland Guardians minor league staff.
In a Twitter post this past Friday, Linahan thanked the Dodgers players and staff for his time with the organization. Linahan will be working for the Guardians as a minor league hitting coach.
I’m excited to join the Cleveland Guardians as a MiLB Hitting Coach!
Can’t say thank you enough to the Dodgers players and staff I had the privilege to work alongside.Ready to get to work! @CleGuardians pic.twitter.com/PmUejxxskR

Linahan was a video associate development coach for the Tulsa Drillers. The Drillers are the Dodgers Double-A affiliate club.
Prior to his time with the Dodgers, Linahan was a hitting coach for Dynamic Sports Training in San Antonio, Texas. The facility has several notable MLB alumni including former Dodgers Carl Crawford, Orland Hudson, and James Loney.
Before breaking into professional baseball coaching, Lineman served as a coach at University of Northern Colorado and was the director of player development at Abilene Christian University.
Linahan played his college ball for Southwest Oklahoma State and Hardin-Simmons college.
