Make it three pitchers’ duels in three days.
The Dodgers finally broke through after Rangers starting pitcher Tyler Mahle exited after seven shutout innings.
Freddie Freeman, who drove in two of the Dodgers’ three runs on Saturday, drove in the only Dodger run on Sunday in a 1–0 win.
The Dodgers had two hits against Mahle and left five runners on base against the right-hander. Their final hit against him was in the fourth with a double from Teoscar Hernández.
Freeman’s sacrifice fly in the eighth inning off reliever Chris Martin was enough for the Dodgers.
Since his return from the injured list on April 11, Freeman is batting .296 with a .424 on-base percentage.

“We certainly maximized the amount of hits we got today,” said manager Dave Roberts. “Fortunately, we came away with the win.”
Will Smith created the run-scoring opportunity with his pinch-hit single to start the eighth. Three batters later he was on third base in place for Freeman.
The bullpen kept the Rangers off the board once Luis García took the mound in the fifth. The relief core combined for five scoreless innings with five strikeouts, two walks and two hits.
Sunday marked the Dodgers’ third shutout of the season and second in this series. The Dodgers’ record in one-run games moved to 6–2 with the win, as well.
The Dodgers took two out of three in the series. Both teams combined to score 11 runs.
Glasnow Injury Update
Tyler Glasnow left the game in the fifth with lower leg cramps. Roberts said Glasnow is expected to make his next start on April 27 against the Pirates at Dodger Stadium.
He threw four innings against the Rangers in his fourth start of the season. He gave up three hits and one walk while striking out six.
“It started in the third. My entire lower half just started cramping up,” Glasnow said. “It just got worse and worse. I was able to early on stretch it … but I couldn’t get rid of it.”
