Not going to beat this one up, this is why the Dodgers lost Game-4 of the 2025 World Series to the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 6-2 in front of a Dodger Stadium crowd of 52,552 on Tuesday to even MLB’s Fall Classic at 2-2:

When asked postgame about his team’s on-going offensive struggles, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts answered: “I thought we had some good kind of energy early and then it just kind of petered on out a little bit.”
That “…good kind of energy early…” started with a spectacular over-the-wall catch in foul territory by Dodgers left fielder Kiké Hernández of a ball hit by Blue Jays left fielder Nathan Lukes for the first out of the game.

Roberts also told reporters: “You know, we really didn’t get a whole lot of good swings and, you know, conversly, you see these guys, you know, grinding and using the whole field and putting some hits together, and obviously, ah, you know, the homer by Vlad (Guerrero Jr.), and, you know, that seventh inning, they… they built an inning right there, and, ah, we just didn’t have an answer.”
As for those six Toronto runs, four were surrendered by 31-year-old Dodgers international superstar starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani on five hits, including that (two-run) “homer” in the top of the third by Guerrero Jr. that Roberts spoke of postgame. That said, the Oshu, Japan native walked only one and struckout six in his 6.0-inning start, all while also serving as the Dodgers designated hitter. Unfortunately, the future first-ballot Hall of Famer went 0-for-3 at the plate, with a walk and two strikeouts. As we have all come to know, so goes Ohtani, so go the Dodgers.

Stranding seven runners on base and going 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position – including having runners on second and third with no outs in the bottom of the ninth and scoring only one run on a ground out by Dodgers second baseman Tommy Edman – could very well be talked about moreso during the off-season than Kiké’s “…good kind of energy early…” should the Dodgers fail to repeat as World Series champions.

Asked if his team has lost their rhythm, the Dodgers skipper pretty much gave the answer that Dodgers fans around the globe already knew:

Roberts was also asked postgame if he was going to stay with the same starting line-up he has used every game to this point in the best-of-seven World Series: “I’m going to think long and hard, and it might look a little bit different tomorrow,” he answered.
Tuesday’s loss also means that regardless of who wins Game-5 on Wednesday, the 2025 World Series will now be decided back at Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto in either Game-6 or Game-7 instead of Dodger-Dog-friendly Dodger Stadium.
