The Dodgers wrapped up the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft on Tuesday with their final 10 selections.
All told over the three days of the draft, the Dodgers selected 18 players, which included six right-handed pitchers, four left-handed pitchers, five infielders and three outfielders. Four of those 18 draftees were taken out of high school while the remaining 14 are from the college ranks.
The Dodgers, for the second year in a row, selected a high school player with impressive speed and athleticism in the first round of the MLB Draft.
Kellon Lindsey, a shortstop from Hardee Senior High School in Florida, was taken by the Dodgers 23rd overall on Sunday. Lindsey carries a 75-grade on the 20–80 scouting scale and turned in the two fastest 30-yard dash times at the June MLB Draft Combine at Chase Field in Phoenix.
The Dodgers didn’t have second- and fifth-round round picks in the 2024 MLB Draft, forfeited after signing Shohei Ohtani as a free agent.
The Dodgers began Day 2 of the draft by selecting Pennsylvania high school third baseman Chase Harlan in the third round (98th overall). MLB.com’s scouting report says: “Harlan is a big, strong, physically mature corner infielder with some serious pop.”
The Clemson commit was a Pennsylvania First-Team All-State selection in 2024 after slashing .382/.506/.750 with five home runs and 23 RBI. His power at the plate was on full display at this year’s MLB Draft Combine, finishing at the top of the leaderboard on day one of the combine with a max home run distance of 453.4 feet and second with a max exit velocity of 112.4 miles per hour.
The Dodgers’ fourth-round pick was left-handed pitcher Jakob Wright out of Cal Poly. Wright had a 2.97 ERA and struck out 101 batters in 88 innings in 2024.
The Dodgers selected 6–5 right-handed pitcher Brooks Auger out of Mississippi State with their sixth-round pick. Auger, a four-pitch pitcher, struck out 50 batters in 45 2/3 innings as a redshirt junior.
Seventh-round pick and Oregon State infielder Elijah Hainline had a .939 OPS with 11 homers in 2024.
The Dodgers selected Illinois high school outfielder Brendan Tunink with their eighth-round pick. The 6-foot, 185-pound left-handed hitter hit .479 in high school with 28 home runs in 100 games.
Troy University outfielder Kole Myers, who had a 1.057 OPS this season with 12 home runs and 34 stolen bases, was taken in the ninth round.
The Dodgers’ final pick of Day 2 of the 2024 MLB Draft was Loyola Marymount 6-foot-7-inch right-handed pitcher Seamus Barrett. He struck out 58 batters in 43 1/3 innings in 2024.
The Dodgers began Day 3 of the MLB Draft by selecting Southern Illinois University right-handed pitcher Aidan Foeller in the 11th round. Foeller struck out 105 batters in 77 2/3 innings this season and had a 4.52 ERA.
After taking pitchers with their first four picks on day three, the Dodgers drafted their first position player of the day, selecting high school shortstop Erik Parker in the 15th round with the 460th overall selection. The Georgia commit was ranked as the 183rd overall prospect on MLB.com after slashing .333/.544/.588 with five doubles, three triples, four home runs and 30 RBIs at North Gwinnett High School (Suwanee, Georgia) this past season.
