A week ago, the Los Angeles Dodgers were a game above .500. Now, they’ve won seven of their past eight and they made some history along the way. The Dodgers put up 10 hits with eight walks to an 8-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, getting revenge on last year’s National League Division Series. While the power of the offense isn’t used to putting up zeros, they were fine with what happened in Arizona on Monday night.
Dodgers Stay Hot in Zero-Strikeout Win
The Dodgers went all night without striking out once. It’s the first time the club played a full game without a strikeout since 2006. The 44 batters the Dodgers sent to the plate without striking out marked the most batters come to the plate in a game where a team didn’t strike out since July 18, 2017. The Cleveland Guardians had 46 batters not strikeout in a 9-3 win over the Chicago White Sox.

“A lot of competitive at-bats,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “Eighteen years- we’ve seen a lot of baseball games since that’s happened. I think you’ve got to give the players all the credit for winning pitches and fighting to move the ball forward.”
“I just think that you’ve got to give the players all the credit as far as winning pitches and fighting to move the ball forward,” Roberts told reporters when asked about the zero strikeout effort.
The Diamondbacks did everything they could to get the Dodgers to swing and miss. The Dodgers saw 17 different two-strike counts, yet continued to hit. Three times, they managed to do the same. For a club like the Dodgers, who led baseball in strikeouts, it’s nothing more than a massive turnaround.
Rookie Andy Pages Continues Hot Start
The Dodgers are now 6-for-30 with the bases loaded this year.
Andy Pages roped a two-run double down the line. Man, he’s been impressive.

Andy Pages is adjusting well to life at the major league level. Pages finished Monday night with three RBI, the second time in 12 career games. Pages even pushed his hitting streak to seven games as he’s batting .298 with an .846 OPS since his big league debut on April 16.
“Just trying to do the best I can,” Pages said. “Obviously, look for pitches I can handle, look for pitches in the zone.”
A Minor Hit to the Bullpen
The Dodgers placed Ryan Brasier on the 15-day injured list with a right calf strain. Gus Varland is back up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take Brasier’s spot. For Brasier, he’s been off to a slow start to the season. He coughed up six runs over 11 2/3 innings courtesy of a trio of home runs. It’s early enough in the year that the Dodgers aren’t too concerned over his absence. Braiser emerged as a high-leverage arm late in 2023. He owned a 7.29 ERA in 21 innings with the Boston Red Sox. When he came to Los Angeles, he posted better numbers with a 0.70 ERA over 38 2/3 innings.
