The Dodgers had the shortest offseason of any major league team, and for the best reason possible by winning the World Series. But now the 2025 season is nearly here, so let’s look ahead to spring training, with sights turning to Camelback Ranch in Arizona.

Dates to remember
Pitchers and catchers report to Dodgers camp on Monday, February 10, with the first official workout by that group on February 11. The Dodgers’ first full-squad workout is Saturday, February 15.
Once camp opens on Monday, the Dodgers are allowed to use the 60-day injured list if needed to create space on the 40-man roster. Clayton Kershaw will re-sign with the Dodgers at some point, and don’t be surprised if another position player is added, too.
Cactus League play opens on Thursday, February 20, with the Dodgers and Cubs playing at Camelback Ranch.
Schedule
Because the Dodgers and Cubs will open their regular season a week before everyone else, with two games at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, the Dodgers will only play 20 games in 20 days in the Arizona portion of their spring training.
Sunday, March 2 is a split-squad day for the Dodgers, facing the White Sox at Camelback Ranch and playing the A’s on the road in Mesa. Monday, March 3 is an off day.
The Dodgers’ final game in Arizona is Tuesday, March 11 before heading to Japan.
Big league camp
The Dodgers will have 64 players to open camp, including 39 pitchers and 26 position players (Shohei Ohtani counts in both categories).
Twenty-four of those players are non-roster invitees, headlined by 23-year-old Roki Sasaki, who technically signed a minor league contract but is expected to open the season in the major league rotation. Also among the NRIs are top prospects Dalton Rushing, Alex Freeland, Josue De Paula, Zyhir Hope, and Jackson Ferris, all of whom are ranked in various top-100 lists.
A total of 13 non-roster pitchers are in Dodgers camp, and if history is any guide, several of them will pitch in the majors with Los Angeles this season. In 2023, 11 of the 16 non-roster pitchers pitched that year for the Dodgers, and in 2024 seven of 12 non-roster pitchers made their way to LA.
Spring breakout
This is the second year in a row with minor league prospects playing each other in major league spring training parks, with all those games this year coming from March 13-16.
While the Dodgers’ major league contingent is in Tokyo, the team’s top minor leaguers will play Cubs minor leaguers at Camelback Ranch on Thursday, March 13 at 6:05 p.m. PT. Television information for that game hasn’t yet been announced.
Freeway Series
After the Dodgers play the two regular season games in Tokyo on March 18-19, they return stateside with three more exhibition games before starting the domestic portion of the real schedule.
The first game against the Angels is Sunday, March 23 at Dodger Stadium, and the final two games are at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on March 24-25.
