Both signed new contracts with LA that were finalized on December 10
The Dodgers finalized their contracts with pitcher Blake Treinen and outfielder Michael Conforto on Tuesday. Treinen signed for two years, $22 million, while Conforto signed for one year, $17 million.
Now, thanks to Associated Press, we have further details of each contract.
Conforto gets an $8.5 million signing bonus, which is paid $6.5 million on January 15 and $2 million on December 1. His salary for the 2025 season is $8.5 million.
Treinen got a $5 million signing bonus, which pays him $2.5 million on January 6 and $2.5 million on December 1. His salary in 2025 is $6 million, and $11 million in 2026.
Conforto counts $17 million toward the payroll for competitive balance tax purposes, while Treinen is at $11 million per season. With those two signed, the Dodgers’ estimated payroll for 2025 is roughly $330 million, well past the highest threshold of competitive balance tax. Every amount above $301 million next season will be taxed at a 110-percent rate.
