The Dodgers have a Major League best 11 comeback wins in June. Tuesday’s back-and-forth battle had Michael Conforto at the center of it.
His three-run, tie-breaking homer gave the Dodgers a lead that they built off of. The Dodgers held on to win 9–7 to start the three-game series at Coors Field.
“I think the ball is coming off a little hotter and just taking better at-bats,” Conforto said of his two hits against the Rockies. “That’s been the name of the game. I’m just glad to do something to help us win.”
The Dodgers are now 15–6 against teams in the National League West this season, the second-best intradivision record in baseball. The Dodgers have won 24 out of 30 games against the Rockies since 2023.
Six hitters in the Dodger lineup tallied at least two hits each in the 14-hit night for the Dodgers.
Conforto led with three RBI on Tuesday while going 2-for-4. A pair of infield errors in the fourth opened the door for the Dodgers to stage their comeback with a six-run frame. His homer gave the Dodgers a 5–2 lead and kept the line moving for Mookie Betts’ RBI double to make it 6–2.

“(To) capitalize on some mistakes on their part, it was big. And that’s kind of the thought of having (Conforto hit eighth) and having Tommy (Edman) hit in the nine, to bleed to Shohei at the top,” said manager Dave Roberts. “But to get production out of Michael, it was big.”
Shohei Ohtani continued to excel against the Rockies. His two-run homer in the sixth extended the Dodgers lead to 8–3 and provided much-needed insurance as the Rockies rallied in the late inning. It was Ohtani’s 27th homer of the season.
After going 1-for-5 on Tuesday, Ohtani’s .387 batting average (43-for-111) in 29 games against Colorado is the best mark against any team in his career.

But the Rockies didn’t go away quietly, fighting back to turn a Dodger 8–3 lead to an 8–7 lead heading into the ninth inning.
The Rockies rallied in the seventh and eighth with four runs against Kirby Yates and Anthony Banda out of the bullpen. Tanner Scott worked around two hits to complete his first four-out save this season.
Entering the game, the Rockies averaged 5.9 runs per game over their last eight games — winning five of them.
The Dodgers trailed 2–0 early in their bullpen game until Teoscar Hernández and Andy Pages knocked the Dodgers’ first two runs in back-to-back at-bats to tie the game. Hernández added another RBI to his ledger with a double in the ninth. He’s tied for 10th in the National League with 53 RBI, along with Pages.
