Yamamoto, who was named the Series MVP, threw 96 pitches (63 strikes) Game 6 on Friday, October 31, then pitched the final 2.2 innings of Game 7 the next day, throwing 34 pitches (21 strikes) to become only the fourth pitcher in MLB history to win Game 6 and Game 7 of the World Series.
