The 2025 MLB All-Star Game is approaching, and the Los Angeles Dodgers are making huge waves with an impressive number of players in the final round of fan voting. With so many great players in the National League, it should be interesting to see which players get the nod and the most votes. After Phase 1 voting ended, several Dodgers players made it into the final voting phase for starting spots. Shohei Ohtani has already locked in his starting spot at DH for the National League. If all goes well, the Dodgers could have eight players in the All-Star Game.
Shohei Ohtani Already Locked In
Let’s start with what we already know. Shohei Ohtani, who has been crushing it all season, has already gotten an impressive almost 4 million votes. He will officially be a starter for the National League as their DH. Ohtani is batting .291 with 28 home runs so far and continues to be one of the most exciting players in all of baseball. Everyone loves him, and the fans have shown up and voted for him.
Who’s in the Final Round?
There are seven other Dodgers in the final round of All-Star voting:
Will Smith (Catcher): Smith is considered one of the league’s best hitting catchers. He led all NL catchers with the most votes during Phase 1. He has had a breakout season, thus far, in terms of average (leading the NL), on-base percentage, and power. He’s very likely to be named the starter if fans keep voting for him.
Freddie Freeman (First Base): Freeman is on track to be named the starting first baseman for the NL, a veteran of the Midsummer Classic. This would be his ninth appearance, and possibly his fifth time as a starter. He’s having another consistent season and is a fan favorite due to his leadership and play on the field.
Tommy Edman (Second Base): Edman is battling Arizona’s Ketel Marte for the starting second base spot. It’s a close race, but Edman will need more momentum to catch Marte. Either as a starter or reserve, this would be Edman’s first All-Star Game.
Max Muncy (Third Base): With his crazy comeback this season, Muncy is sitting second on the ballot at third base behind Manny Machado. He’ll need a late push from the fans to get over the top, but he’s definitely in the mix to make the team, most likely as a reserve.
Mookie Betts (Shortstop): This is his first full year playing shortstop, and he seems to be getting pretty comfortable. He is one of the most popular players in baseball, and he’s currently in second place behind Francisco Lindor in the voting. It’s a tight battle, but Betts has a shot.
Teoscar Hernández (Outfield): Hernández has been a critical part of the Dodgers’ lineup all season. He’s one of the top vote-getters in the outfield, only behind Pete Crow-Armstrong, and has a real chance to start if he keeps up the pace.
Andy Pages (Outfield): Dodgers fans are definitely not surprised to see Pages on the list. The rookie outfielder surged into the top six and is now a finalist for an All-Star starting spot. It would be his first All-Star game appearance.
Voting for Phase 2 started on June 30 and ends on July 2. Fans can vote once a day on MLB.com. The final rosters will be announced on July 2, with the full All-Star teams (including reserves and pitchers) revealed on July 6.
Final Thoughts
This could be an unforgettable All-Star Game for the Dodgers and their fans. Whether you love Ohtani’s talent, Freeman’s leadership, or Pages’ breakout season, this team has something for everyone. Now it’s up to the fans to help make history.
