Andruw Jones, the five-time All-Star and 10-time Gold Glove Award-winning outfielder who played one season with the Dodgers in 2008, was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on Tuesday.
The 2026 Hall of Fame Class includes two former Dodgers. Jeff Kent was elected by the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee on Dec. 8.
Former Major League outfielder Carlos Beltrán will be the third member of the Class of 2026, which will be inducted in Cooperstown, New York on July 26.
During a 17-year career with five Major League teams, Jones slashed .254/.337/.486/.823 in 2,196 games with 434 home runs and 1,289 RBI.

In the 1996 World Series, Jones became the youngest player to hit a home run in the postseason, and he became only the second player to hit a home run in his first two World Series at-bats.

With the Braves, Jones became one of the top defensive outfielders in baseball. He led all center fielders in putouts and total zone runs from 1998 to 2002, which coincided with his streak of 10 consecutive Gold Gloves from 1998 to 2007.
In 2005, he led the National League with 51 home runs and 128 RBI, finishing second to the Cardinals’ Albert Pujols in the NL Most Valuable Player balloting.
During his lone season with the Dodgers, Jones batted .158 in 75 games with three home runs and 14 RBI. He was placed on the injured list for the first time in his career on May 25, having injured his right knee that day during batting practice. He underwent surgery to repair torn cartilage.
Jones was eventually placed on the 60-day injured list on Sept. 13, ending his season. The Dodgers won the National League West under first-year manager Joe Torre and reached the NL Championship Series for the first time since 1988.
From 2009 to 2012, Jones played for the Rangers, White Sox and Yankees.
Jones spent his final two professional seasons with the Rakuten Golden Eagles in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball league.
In 2023, the Braves retired his uniform №25.
