For a second consecutive year, the Dodgers had three players selected as All-MLB Team winners.

Shohei Ohtani (designated hitter) and Yoshinobu Yamamoto (starting pitcher) were announced as All-MLB First-Team selections on Thursday. Will Smith (catcher) was selected to the All-MLB Second Team.

This is Ohtani’s fourth All-MLB First Team selection as a designated hitter (2021, 2023, 2024). In 2022, he was named to the Second Team as a DH. His three other All-MLB honors have been as a starting pitcher. He’s been an All-MLB First Teamer twice as a starting pitcher (2022, 2023) and once as a Second Teamer (2021).

Ohtani finished the season with a .282/.392/.622/1.014 slash line as a designated hitter. In his second season as the Dodgers’ designated hitter, he recorded 55 home runs, 102 RBI, 146 runs, 109 walks and nine triples in 158 games.

For Yamamoto, this is his first career All-MLB Team selection. He had a 2.49 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 12–8 record and 201 strikeouts in 173 2/3 innings over 30 starts for the Dodgers. He held hitters to 5.9 hits per nine innings.

Smith is now a two-time All-MLB Team winner. He was also selected to the Second Team in 2022. He slashed .296/.404/.497/.901 with 17 home runs and 61 RBI in 110 games.

The teams were chosen in two parts. Fan voting counted for 50% of the official determination and the other half was decided by a baseball media panel.
