Shohei Ohtani’s September was one of the greatest in Dodger history. He capped off a historic season with a 1.225 OPS — the best all time for a Dodger with at least 100 plate appearances in the month.
He also caps his season with the National League Player of the Month honor.
Ohtani went 42-for-107 with 10 home runs, 16 stolen bases (without being caught stealing), 32 RBI and 19 extra-base hits with a .393/.458/.766/1.225 slash line in 26 September games.
He became the first Major Leaguer to ever hit at least 10 home runs and steal at least 15 bases in the month of September, and it was the third time in Major League history a player hit 10 and stole at last 15 in any month.
The others — Carlos Beltrán in Aug. 2004 and Ohtani in Aug. 2024.
Included Ohtani’s September was his 6-for-6 game in Miami on Sept. 19 where he reached 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases for the season to become the first player in Major League history with a 50/50 season. Ohtani hit three home runs and two doubles, driving in a Dodger single-game record 10 runs and stealing two bases.
