2026 Dodgers Schedule: Opening Day Game Vs. Diamondbacks

August 26, 2025 by Dodger Blue

After back-to-back years of starting internationally, the Los Angeles Dodgers are going to remain in the United States for Opening Day of the MLB season.

The 2026 Dodgers schedule starts with a season opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium on Thursday, March 26. Though, the 2026 MLB season begins March 25 with an Opening Night matchup between the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park.

March 26 is the earliest traditional Opening Day date in MLB history, excluding special season-openers and international games. The date features 14 games, including six Interleague matchups. After just five games on Friday, all 30 teams will be in action on March 28.

MLB’s balanced schedule remains in effect for the fourth season in a row, which means the Dodgers will play all 29 opposing teams again in 2026, totaling 46 Interleague games, an increase from 20 in the seasons prior to 2023.

MLB’s balanced schedule format also amounts to the Dodgers once again only making two visits to opposing National League West cities and a total of 52 divisional games, which is down from 76.

In the 2025 season, the Dodgers faced just one NL West opponent through the month of April. By that point they had already completed a season series with the Chicago Cubs, though in some part due to their playing in the Tokyo Series.

“I try not to overthink the logic behind scheduling, because obviously it’s a tough job,” Roberts said earlier this year. “But it is interesting how certain teams we’re going to be done with and certain teams we don’t see for quite some time.”

For 2026, the Dodgers have three divisional matchups during April (Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies and Giants).

The 2026 MLB All-Star Game is being hosted by the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday, July 14. The Dodgers face the Diamondbacks on July 12 in their final game before the All-Star break.

Dodgers 2026 schedule highlights

Jackie Robinson Day is headlined by the Dodgers hosting the New York Mets on April 15. The Dodgers also are playing at Dodger Stadium for several holidays, including Mother’s Day (Atlanta Braves; May 10), Memorial Day (Rockies; May 25), Father’s Day (Baltimore Orioles; June 21), Independence Day (San Diego Padres; July 4) and Labor Day (Cincinnati Reds; Sept. 7).

The Dodgers’ first time playing the Giants during the 2026 season takes place at Oracle Park from April 21-23.

The Padres are on the Dodgers’ schedule for the first time from May 18-20, for a three-game series at Petco Park.

Interleague play for the Dodgers in 2026 starts against the Cleveland Guardians, at Dodger Stadium from March 30-April 1. The first Freeway Series is from May 15-17 at Angel Stadium.

The 2026 season sees the Dodgers play at Yankee Stadium from July 17-19 in their first series after the All-Star break.

Their final road trip on the 2026 Dodgers schedule takes place from Sept. 25-27 against the Giants.

The last day of the 2026 MLB regular season is Sunday, Sept. 27.
