The Dodger offense has had an uneven World Series through four games. In Game 4, it didn’t get much traction.
Now the World Series is tied at 2–2, and if the Dodgers are to repeat as World Series champions, they’ll have to win it in Toronto.
The Dodgers’ 6–2 loss in Game 4 of the World Series on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium. Game 5 is at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday.
“We haven’t found our rhythm,” manager Dave Roberts said.
And to get it some rhythm, Roberts said he is weighing the possibility of making some lineup changes in Game 5.
“Obviously, we’d love to score 10 (runs) every game, but that’s not the case,” Betts said. “We’d love to get going (offensively). We just have to play and see what happens.”
Collectively, the Dodger offense went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position. Seven batters were stranded on base.
“They’re executing really well right now. We’re not taking advantage of the few mistakes they’ve been making,” said Max Muncy, who went 1-for-3 on Tuesday. “Anytime a pitcher executes, it makes it a tough day.”

Unlike Game 4 of the National League Championship Series, Shohei Ohtani couldn’t fuel a win at the plate and on the mound. He went 0-for-3 against the Blue Jays while giving up four earned runs in six innings pitched.
Ohtani allowed two runs through six innings, and allowed the first two runners to reach base in the seventh. That signaled his end on the mound. Both runners scored, and the Blue Jays added two more in their four-run inning.
A 2–1 Toronto lead became a 6–1 lead by the end of the frame.
“Whether it’s during the regular season or the postseason, my goal is to be able to pitch six innings, and the situation, this game, I wanted to go seven, and it was regrettable that I wasn’t able to finish that inning,” Ohtani said.
Ohtani allowed a two-run home run to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the third inning, then went on to retire 11 of the next 12 batters.
Toronto recorded 11 hits against four Dodger pitchers. The Dodgers had six hits in the game — two from Freddie Freeman. The rest of the Dodger lineup went 4-for-27.
Now, the Dodgers seek to correct course in a rematch of Game 1 between Blake Snell and Trey Yesavage on Wednesday. The Dodgers scored two runs against the rookie right-hander in four innings when they faced him in Toronto.
“My hope is we regroup tomorrow, gather the information that we had from Yesavage, and keep him in the hitting zone, and understand what that split does,” said manager Dave Roberts. “When we get the fastball, really get on it.”
