The Hernández name has graced Dodgers’ postseason rosters for nearly 10 years. And for a second consecutive season, there are two Hernandezes who are being difference-makers.
It’s been a tandem effort by Teoscar Hernández and Kiké Hernández this postseason. They’re a big reason why the Dodgers are one win away from advancing to the National League Championship Series.
They combined to put the first Dodger run on the board in the team’s 4–3 win over the Phillies on Monday. It opened the door for the Dodgers to take a 2–0 lead in the National League Division Series.
Kiké Hernández was jammed in the seventh inning on a pitch by Phillies starter Jesús Luzardo. The 34.5 mph tumbling grounder was slow enough and far enough to allow Teoscar Hernández to score.
Kiké later scored on a single in the frame for the Dodgers’ second run.

There’s also Game 1 against the Phillies on Saturday where their presence was felt.
Kiké doubled in two runs in the sixth to cut the Phillies’ lead to one. Then, in the seventh, Teoscar put the Dodgers ahead with a go-ahead, three-run home run.
Teoscar and Kiké have driven in 13 of the Dodgers’ 27 runs during the 2025 postseason. They’re hitting a combined .364 (12-for-33) through four games in the NL Wild Card Series and NL Division Series.

Teoscar extended his postseason hitting streak to 10 games with his two hits on Monday. He’s hitting .390 (16-for-41) since Game 6 of the 2024 NL Championship Series. His three home runs and nine RBI lead Dodger hitters in 2025.
Teoscar and Kiké are tied for the Dodger lead with four runs scored. Kiké collected five hits in his first three games of the postseason.
