After a wildly successful offseason, the Los Angeles Dodgers are reporting to Camelback Ranch this week for the start of Spring Training.
The team enters the 2025 season as overwhelming favorites to win a second consecutive World Series title. L.A. is looking to become the first team in more than two decades to repeat as MLB champions.
The Dodgers are returning many key contributors from last season and will also have several newcomers this year. They significantly improved their roster with the signings of Blake Snell, Tanner Scott and Roki Sasaki, among others.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts addresses his club before the first full-squad workout every year and said he will keep the focus on playing the brand of baseball they have come to expect, via MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM:
“It’s always kind of a big thing when you go into Spring Training: what’s the manager’s message, the tone. I do feel you need to sense this overarching message, but the main thing is to follow through day-to-day.
“I think for me, it’s acknowledging the fact that we as an organization, as a team, have set a standard for excellence. We’ve got the core group guys back, we’ve got an infusion of new players that are hungry to win a championship, and how we go about things on the field, there’s a certain expectation and standard.
“I think that in itself, along with guys like Mookie and Freddie want to build a legacy for themselves and the organization, is a good step in the right direction.”
The Dodgers are in the midst of a historic stretch that includes 12 consecutive postseason appearances, four National League pennants and two World Series titles since 2013.
They are led by superstars across the board, including Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, among others.
The Dodgers are used to having high expectations and that will be no different this season.
They were projected by PECOTA of Baseball Prospectus to finish with an MLB-best 104-58 record, and Miguel Rojas recently said that he wouldn’t be surprised if L.A. sets the all-time MLB wins record.
Dodgers Spring Training schedule 2025
The 2025 Dodgers Spring Training schedule begins Thursday, Feb. 20, with a home game against the Chicago Cubs at Camelback Ranch. The teams will open the regular season with the Tokyo Series from March 18-19.
Overall, the Dodgers play just 20 Cactus League games in a span of 21 days. Included in that stretch is a split-squad doubleheader with the Athletics and Chicago White Sox on March 2. The Dodgers’ only off day of Spring Training is March 3.
The Dodgers’ final Cactus League game is March 11, one week before Opening Day of the 2025 regular season. They conclude Spring Training with the exhibition Freeway Series against the Los Angeles Angels from March 23-25.
Stateside Opening Day of the 2025 season is March 27, when the Dodgers host the Detroit Tigers.
