Angels Silver Slugger Advances With Injury Recovery
Trout’s Injury Update
Trout will likely undergo his first rehab session on Tuesday, July 23rd, in Triple-A Salt Lake. But before he starts his rehab assignment, today he will practice live pitching at the organization’s Spring Training facility for the weekend. If all goes well, he could return to the Angels on Thursday to play at home against the Oakland Athletics. His return couldn’t come soon enough. The Angels are fourth in the AL West and could certainly use some help from their veteran center fielder.
The injury bug has had a looming negative impact on many teams, but luckily, teams are slowly starting to get their injured players back. Rangers Jacob deGrom is also progressing with his injury in a positive direction. 32-year-old Trout has quite the baseball resume. He has been an All-Star 11 times, won the AL MVP award three times, and has won the Silver Slugger Award nine times. Baseball is certainly more entertaining when Trout is healthy, so the fact that he could return soon is quite encouraging. Trout is also in the 99th percentile and 6th in MLB in his xBSAP rank.
The goat will soon be back in baseball. He is also returning at an eventful time before the July 30th Trade Deadline. Hopefully, he can remain healthy for the remainder of the season. Fans on social media believe that he is better off to be traded to a contending team and earn himself a ring. Trout will also likely DH with the Angels for the remainder of the season. Before going on the IL, Trout recorded 10 home runs, 14 RBIs, and 16 walks.
