Can OCSC make a deep run this year?
After finishing the 2021 USL Championship regular season on Saturday with another heart-stopping win deep in stoppage time, Orange County SC can officially look ahead to the playoffs, which will kick off next weekend.
After Thomas Enevoldsen grabbed a 94th-minute winner for OCSC against LA Galaxy II on Saturday, which extended Orange County’s winning streak to five games to wrap the regular season on a high note, the team will host Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 7 pm PT in the 2021 USL Championship Playoffs.

As in past years, the playoff format is single elimination, so it’s a win-or-end-your-season scenario for both teams. After OCSC just missed out on a playoff berth in 2020, they made no mistake this season, and even with a midseason change in head coach, with Richard Chaplow taking over after Braeden Cloutier was dismissed in August. Finishing second in the Pacific Division, Orange County comfortably clinched, but while they beat Phoenix Rising to kickstart the current win streak, the rivals themselves comfortably won the Division this season. Still, it’s a new season now, and the teams will look to progress through each round.
Tickets are available at a very affordable price for the game, at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine, but don’t dither if you want to be part of the action, and the club is also having a Beerfest to liven up the atmosphere even more. So if you need something to do on Saturday, get a ticket and get out and see some playoff soccer in Southern California!
