A power swing could be coming
It has been a wild offseason already and we could possibly still see a few of the biggest trades in NFL history if certain rumors persist. There’s been a shift in the balance of power for certain, but in what direction?
Here are some headlines involving NFC teams:
- Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford switched places
- Dak Prescott got paid
- Carson Wentz to the AFC
- Drew Brees retired
- Trey Lance and Justin Fields enter the conversation
- Falcons got a new head coach and a new tight end
- There are a few teams that would be instant contenders if they had a quarterback and Aaron Rodgers might want to be that quarterback
Trying to put myself in Rodgers’ shoes, I do think that there are at least five or six teams in the NFC alone that could give him a better situation than the one he currently has with the Packers. It’s not about how many points they can score with Rodgers, it’s about how many games they could actually win without him. The defense has been average and several teams have loaded up on offensive linemen and weapons over the last two years.
Teams like the Rams, Bucs, Saints, Football Team, and 49ers had top-10 defenses in 2020. The Cowboys, Falcons, Seahawks, and Giants offer talented skill players beyond just a number one. But also Green Bay with Rodgers has proven to be a champion contender and until that relationship is officially over, they remain a contender.
With the draft now completed, where do you think the Rams stand in the NFC?
