The Rams have made things look easy on offense this season, scoring the fifth-most yards in the NFL. Matthew Stafford’s arrival is a big reason for that, but Cooper Kupp’s historically strong start to the year has also played a major role.
Brian Baldinger breaks down film of certain players and teams throughout the week, highlighting standout plays and concepts that he notices. This week, he took a look at Kupp and the Rams offense, showing a handful of plays that worked to perfection.
At one point, Kupp ran an option route out of the backfield and Baldinger wondered if the Lions were even playing tackle football because it was so easy.
“I mean, is it even tackle football? It’s so easy,” Baldinger said.
.@RamsNFL @CooperKupp leads the NFL in receptions, receiving yards, TD receptions! The @Lions made it pretty easy to for Kupp to stay atop of the leader boards. #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/XSmL7kAKrL

Baldinger’s breakdown continued, showing a route run by Kupp that went for 27 yards. It was the same route that Kupp ran two weeks prior against the Seahawks, but Stafford missed him that first time.
The two were on the same page for their second attempt and it went for a first down.
.@RamsNFL keep working on concepts that they know should work. 2 weeks ago v @seahawks they missed this throw. Get back to practice, details your misses, execute on Sundays better. Rams Way of doing business. #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/dSypLH1eNC

The Rams are humming on offense with Stafford in control, and his connection with Kupp only seems to get stronger by the week. Don’t be surprised if they finish the season with the most points scored in the NFL.
