Without any further moves, LA did make some announcements at the trade deadline
While waiting for potential news about DeSean Jackson and other trade chips, ingoing or outgoing, the LA Rams made some internal moves at the 1 PM deadline on Tuesday: Defensive lineman Jonah Williams was waived, making him available to all 31 teams, while Tutu Atwell and Travin Howard were placed on injured reserve.
LA Rams Transactions:
• Waived DE Jonah Williams
• Reserve/Injured WR Tutu Atwell
• Reserve/Injured LB Travin Howard— Los Angeles Rams (@RamsNFL) November 2, 2021
Jonah Williams, 26, is a 6’5, 275 lb defensive end who was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Weber State in 2020. He made the Rams out of training camp this year and has played a surprising 96 snaps on defense, with 41 more coming on special teams. But Williams has five tackles and no pressures over those 96 snaps.
It was already known that the Rams would place Atwell and Howard on IR, this just makes it official. With Von Miller being added to the 53-man roster this week — and Jackson being removed — Los Angeles will have plenty more work to do to fill out the other open spots over the week. That’s likely to come via the practice squad, but trades could still trickle in after this news.
