The Los Angeles Rams have a number of intriguing weapons on the offensive side of the ball and with head coach Sean McVay at the helm, you can be sure that he is getting the best out of all of the players at his disposal. One position where the Rams didn’t get as much production last season was at tight end, so the team drafting Terrance Ferguson out of Oregon makes a ton of sense.
Ferguson brings great size and athleticism for the position and got steadily better over his time at Oregon increasing his receptions and receiving yards every season. The belief is that Ferguson will be able to come in and immediately make an impact for this offense, and now he is officially locked in.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Ferguson has officially signed his rookie contract with the Rams:
#Rams have agreed to terms with second-round tight end Terrance Ferguson on a four-year $9,713,466 contract with $8,046,753 guaranteed.

Deals for second-round picks have been delayed across the league as teams and players have been at a standoff over guaranteed money. The Houston Texans signed their second-round pick Jayden Higgins to the first-ever fully guaranteed deal for a second-round pick. But with the San Francisco 49ers agreeing to a deal with their second-round pick Alfred Collins, a standard has been set and the rest of the deals for second-round picks are beginning to come down.
The Rams were able to get a deal done with Ferguson, who was their top draft pick, without it being fully guaranteed.
The important thing is that Ferguson will be a full-go once training camp begins and not have any sort of contract situation hanging over his head. Ferguson still has two veterans to lean on in Tyler Higbee, who should be much improved now being further removed from that catastrophic knee injury, as well as Colby Parkinson.
Ferguson finished his Oregon career as the all-time leader in career receptions and touchdowns by a tight end and he has an excellent opportunity to play a role in this Rams offense in multiple different ways and McVay will be sure to put him in the best positions to do so.
Rams’ Puka Nacua reveals advice he received from Davante Adams
The Rams certainly hope and believe Terrance Ferguson will be able to make an impact on this offense, but without a doubt the passing game will revolve around Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. The Rams brought in Adams this offseason and the veteran is still an outstanding piece who can contribute at a high level and he is already giving some excellent advice to the younger Nakua on how to get even better than he already is.
