With 3 open spots on the roster, Sean McVay filled out his team ahead of Sunday Night Football vs. Titans
The LA Rams have designated cornerback Darious Williams for return after sitting out the last three weeks with an injury suffered against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5. The news comes amid a flurry of roster changes for the Rams, as they’ve already waived DeSean Jackson, placed two players on injured reserve, and traded for Von Miller this week. Williams’ return comes at a perfect time, as the team will now have more flexibility in its secondary as it welcomes a future Hall of Fame pass rusher to its front-seven.
The team also signed receiver J.J. Koski, and as previously reported, linebacker Christian Rozeboom, to the 53-man roster.
LA Rams Transactions:
• Practice Squad WR Warren Jackson
• Free Agent Signing WR J.J. Koski
• Free Agent Signing LB Christian Rozeboom
• Designated for Return, Returned to Practice DB Darious Williams— Los Angeles Rams (@RamsNFL) November 3, 2021
Williams played in five games prior to his injury, recording 29 tackles and two passes defensed. Williams posted four interceptions last season and will be a free agent in 2022, likely one who will be difficult to retain.
Koski had moments in training camp and the preseason where he starred this past offseason. With Jackson and Tutu Atwell now out of the plans for 2021, Koski provides not only depth at receiver, but perhaps some punt return potential. Rozeboom takes the spot previously occupied by linebacker Travin Howard, now on short-term IR.
The Rams also added receiver Warren Jackson to the practice squad to take Koski’s place. Jackson is an undrafted free agent out of Colorado State. The 6’6, 215 lb receiver didn’t play his college season in 2020, but had 77 catches for 1,119 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior in 2019.
