The Los Angeles Rams’ first trip to the Super Bowl during the Sean McVay era came in the 2018 season after they beat the New Orleans Saints in the NFC title game. That game wasn’t without controversy, of course, after Nickell Robey-Coleman collided with Tommylee Lewis in the fourth quarter, preventing a completion on a play that should’ve been called pass interference.
No flag was thrown and the Rams went on to win the game, punching their ticket to the Super Bowl. Saints fans were irate over the way the game ended, but Jared Goff will never apologize to them for the way things went down.
As so many Rams fans (and players) have said, the Saints got the ball in overtime with a chance to win the game and Drew Brees threw a pick.
“No. God no. No. They got the ball in overtime. They had a chance to win it,” Goff said on “Pardon My Take”.

Pretty hilariously, Goff denied that the play was pass interference – despite knowing that Robey-Coleman did, in fact, get there early and interfere with the receiver.
“No. No, it wasn’t. Was it called pass interference? I’ve had a million pass interferences that weren’t called,” Goff said.
In Goff’s mind, there’s no guarantee Will Lutz makes the kick to seal the win for the Saints, either.
“Who says he makes the field goal, too? I know he’s like automatic from there, Lutz was, but I don’t know,” Goff added.
Goff will never apologize for the Rams’ win, nor should he ever.
