It’s officially official.
The Chargers made the signing of wide receiver/returner Andre Roberts official on Thursday afternoon. In a corresponding move, the team has waived 2019 seventh-round pick, wide receiver K.J. Hill.
Through six weeks, the return game has seen little to no success regardless of who was put back to to receive. Now that the team has the bye week to reflect on the prior month and a half of play, it’s no surprise they’re being active to fix issues that could otherwise derail an otherwise promising season thus far.
Since the start of the 2020 season, Hill has recorded just 10 catches for 104 yards and zero touchdowns. On special teams, he held a 6.9-yard average on punt returns and a 14.3-yard average on kick returns.
In 2020, the newly-signed led the NFL with a staggering 30.0 yards per kickoff. He was also named to the Pro Bowl each of the last three seasons.
welcome to LA, @AndreRoberts! ⚡️
