Chargers open as 3-point favorites over the Eagles

The Bolts could use a soft opponent and they won’t have to wait long.

The Chargers have the Eagles on tap for next Sunday in Philadelphia and opened this evening as three-point favorites over at DraftKings Sportsbook. L.A. will look to shake off their frustrating loss to the Patriots while the Eagles hope to capitalize on some momentum after defeating the winless Lions. The over/under for the game is currently set at 50.

At 4-3, the Chargers need to get back on the winning track to keep pace with the Raiders (5-2) who were on bye this week. The Eagles are 3-5 after their latest win and are second in the NFC East behind only the Cowboys.

While this matchup may look easier, the Eagles boast a top-10 defense, including the league’s eighth-best unit against the pass. On the other side of the ball, you can expect another team who wants to run the ball as Philadelphia is currently sixth in the NFL in rushing offense.

Seriously, the Chargers can’t seem to catch a break from bad matchups with the run.

At any rate, it’s a team with a losing record that they MUST beat in order for this season not to go into full “freakout” mode. Can they do it? Only time will tell.
