Ahead of yesterday’s Labor Day practice, Brandon Staley said he was still unsure about whether or not right tackle Bryan Bulaga would be available for the team’s 2021 opener against Washington due to a minor hip flexor injury.
However, during the portion of practice that was open to the media, Bulaga was seen practicing with the rest of his teammates in what looks like a good sign for the veteran. As of now, it’s safe to say that Staley is being overly cautious and may just be avoiding a commitment in the meantime.
Should Bulaga not go for any reason, Storm Norton was tabbed as his replacement on the right side.
But let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. Fingers crossed.
#Chargers coach Brandon Staley said he’s not sure yet if RT Bryan Bulaga (hip flexor) will be able to play Sunday. The answer will start to come once the team returns to practice later today. If Bulaga can’t go, Storm Norton would start.
