The Los Angeles Lakers have effectively rounded out their rotation for the upcoming season but still have a few roster spots remaining to fill for depth. According to Michael Scotto of Hoopshype, they (along with several other teams) have “expressed interest” in signing one of the better remaining wings on the market in Glenn Robinson III.
According to Scotto, the Clippers, Nets, Rockets and Jazz have also all shown an interest in the 26-year-old. The Lakers have the least spending power out of all of these teams and are only able to give him the veteran minimum but, obviously, they can offer the 6-foot-6 wing a strong team that is arguably the favorites to win the championship again next season.
Robinson started last year with the Golden State Warriors before being moved to the Philadelphia 76ers at the trade deadline. In 62 total games, he averaged 11.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He shot 39.1 percent from three, up from his career average of 37.3 percent.
Robinson has played for five NBA franchises, including two separate half-season stints with the 76ers.
Once Anthony Davis is re-signed, the Lakers will need to give out at least one more contract to hit the minimum roster requirement of 13 players, although it’s expected that Jared Dudley will return to the team as well. They do have the space under the hard cap to sign a maximum of 15 players.
