The Los Angeles Lakers played game two without Anthony Davis. The results went wayward after a loss to the Brooklyn Nets, 109-98. The Lakers are now 22-8 on the season, but still remain at the second spot in the Western Conference.

Along with Davis, Dennis Schröder was a late scratch due to the league’s safety and health protocol. His absence does not have a timetable. Combining the two missing starters present a big obstacle for the Lakers going forward.

LeBron James held up as best as he could tonight. He poured in 32 points and seven assists. James also eclipsed the 35,000 point mark. He became the third player in NBA history to reach this feat.

Congrats to @KingJames on becoming the 3rd player in NBA history to reach 35,000 career points, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone! pic.twitter.com/F1JnPHq5se

Kyle Kuzma notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The only other Laker in double figures was Montrezl Harell with 10 points.

The Nets were so hot from long range. They outshot the Lakers 46.2 percent to 26.7 percent on the night. Compiled with injuries, it was too much working against them to keep up.

The Lakers will be back in action on Saturday night. They will be facing the Miami Heat, whom they defeated in the 2020 NBA Finals. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30PM PST/8:30PM EST.
