Less than a year ago, Dwight Howard‘s bully-ball style of play was vital for the Los Angeles Lakers during their championship run. He’ll try and provide a similar impact next season when he’ll once again don the purple and gold.
Howard has reached a deal to return to the Lakers, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski. It’ll be his third time playing for Los Angeles.
Howard was terrific for the Lakers during their playoff run two seasons ago. He was a major problem on the glass in the Orlando bubble and often served as the Lakers’ intimidator. They could use his services once again.
The Lakers have built a veteran team this offseason. We’ll have to wait and see whether or not it pays off.

Dwight Howard isn’t the only former Lakers players returning to play for the Lakers. Los Angeles also picked up veterans Wayne Ellington and former fan-favorite Trevor Ariza. They won’t be the only new faces playing for the Lakers later this year.
Los Angeles acquired Russell Westbrook in trade with the Washington Wizards last week. In doing so, the organization sent off Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Montrezl Harrell.
It was previously believed the Lakers were going to go after shooters in both the free-agency and trade market this offseason. But they’ve clearly decided to go back to their identity: size and strength.
The Lakers won a championship last year using bully ball. Well, they have one of the best bullies in basketball in Howard back in the fold.
