After reaching the Eastern Conference Semifinals for the first time in a decade, the New York Knicks are eyeing more superstars to potentially make them a real contender. One blockbuster trade they’re discussing just might do the trick.
According to SNY reporter Ian Begley, the Knicks and Clippers have been “in contact” about a potential trade for forward Paul George. However, it’s not clear if the Clippers are actually interested in moving him.
“The Knicks and Clippers have had contact about a potential Paul George trade, per SNY sources. It is unknown if Clippers are willing to move George. @TheSteinLine reported earlier that Clips gave rival teams the impression that they were gauging George’s trade value last week,” Begley wrote.
George is coming off his eighth All-Star season and would immediately fill the Knicks’ biggest need at small forward. Based on the replies, Knicks fans are certainly open to the idea even if the Clippers are not:

“Its a gamble but I don’t hate it if the price is reasonable considering what the Suns had to pay and PG is older and more injury prone. Do not hate it,” one user wrote.
