For every true baseball fan, there are no sweeter words than “Game Seven.”
Following the Dodgers thrilling 3-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in Game-6 of the 2025 World Series at Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto on Friday evening, those two words were heard prominently on every media and social media outlet in the free world.
There will be a Game-7 of the 2025 World Series to determine the champions of America’s (and Canada’s) National Pastime thanks to a clutch single to left field by heretofore struggling Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts with two outs and the bases loaded in the top of the third inning to give the Dodgers a then 3-0 lead.
“I’ve just been terrible,” Betts told reporters before Game-6 on Friday. “Just to get it (a hit) to show up today in a big spot is really refreshing, but shoutout to the boys for getting on base and create some traffic for the moment,” the always-humble 33-year-old Nashville, TN native and future Hall of Famer said immediately after the game.

“And then Mookie, I just… I liked him (batting clean-up),” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Betts postgame. “We talked about letting the game come to him a little bit and he got a huge hit for us. He’s one of our guys and, um, I’m going to, as they say, ride or die with him,” the Dodgers skipper added.

Yes, there will be a Game-7 to the 2025 edition of Major League Baseball’s World Championship Series, which will again be carried live nationally on Fox Sports television and locally on AM 570 LA Sports Radio, with first pitch slated for 5:08 PM PDT.
Sweet music to our ears indeed.
