The Dodgers have powered their way to three-straight wins over the arch rival Giants. Mookie Betts and Cody Bellinger provided the pop in Thursday and Friday’s dramatic wins, but on Saturday, Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman joined the party. For the first time all season, Betts, Turner, and Freeman all went yard in the Dodgers 4-2 win on Saturday.
LA is now eyeing a triumphant sweep of the Giants today with none other than Clayton Edward Kershaw on the mound. In his lone start against San Francisco, Kershaw allowed two earned runs in one of the shortest starts of his 2022 season (4.0 IP).
However, Kershaw owns a microscopic 0.40 ERA in the month of July and has historically dominated the Giants. In 51 career starts against LA’s arch rivals, Clayton has a 1.91 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP.
The Giants will send out the right-handed Alex Cobb in the hopes of avoiding the sweep. Due to injury, Cobb missed the three-game series in the Bay. He owns a 4.09 ERA in 14 starts this season.
