A former Dodger fan favorite is on the move. Hanser Alberto, who signed a one-year deal with the Dodgers last year, has signed a minor league deal with the Chicago White Sox. Fansided’s Robert Murray was the first to report the news.

Alberto, 30, played in 73 games with the Dodgers last year. He hit .244 with two home runs and 15 RBIs, and had an OPS+ of 70.
His biggest impact came as the blowout-reliever for the 111-win Dodgers. Alberto made 10 appearances out of the pen last season, allowing five earned runs, two home runs and recording one incredible strikeout.
Alberto will look to compete for a roster spot for the White Sox. He’s returning to the American League, where he spent the first six years of his career. He also played for the Kansas City Royals in 2021, so he’s very familiar with the AL Central.
Hanser’s one season with the Dodgers will always be remembered for the fun he brought to the dugout and clubhouse each and every day. It didn’t make sense for the Dodgers to bring him back, but he’ll for sure be missed next season.
The White Sox will be coming to Dodger Stadium on June 13-15 for a three-game series. Hopefully Alberto is on their roster at the time, and gets to make a return to Los Angeles. Best of luck in Chicago, Hanser!
