He begins his rehab assignment with the OKC Dodgers after missing more
The Dodgers were the only team to play on Monday night. Corey Knebel made his long awaited return to the mound after not pitching in over three months.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers walked it off in the ninth inning, as they took down the Sugar Land Skeeters (Astros) 3-2. Yoshi Tsutsugo led the inning off with a walk, with Christian Santana following with a single. A wild pitch advanced the runners to second and third. With one out, Carlos Asuaje grounded to second base, bringing in the game-winning run.
Corey Knebel started the game for Oklahoma City. It was the first game of his rehab assignment while he works his way back to LA’s roster. He hasn’t pitched in a game in over three months. Knebel retired the side in order, striking out two of his three hitters faced. When he spoke to the media the other day, he said he’ll have about five outings or so.
In Keibert Ruiz news, he recorded three hits and drove in a run. Prior to the game, he was named the Triple-A West Player of the Week. During the past week, Ruiz recorded 12 hits and had four home runs.
This will be quite the week for the young catcher. He’s likely going to be mentioned in every trade discussion the Dodgers have over the rest of the week.
