A source told Jeff Fletcher at the Los Angeles Daily News that Pujols intends to play in Major League Baseball again in 2022. so Pujols’ winter plans are likely designed to keep him sharp during the offseason. A strong showing, combined with the potential addition of the designated hitter to the National League, could make it easier for the future Hall of Famer to land a new contract.
“I think Albert can do whatever he wants to do and if he wants to play next year he’s certainly going to be a really good contributor to whatever ball club,” manager Dave Roberts said during the National League Championship Series.
